This represents my other work: writing for television - here I am on set with Nickelodeon’s The Fresh Beat Band at Paramount Studios for an episode I wrote (titled “Veloci-Rap-Star”). Director Jonathan Judge (on the bottom left) and me (lower right) are joined by (top row, left to right): Thomas Hobson, Tara Perry, Ben Giroux, Jon Beavers, & Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer. The band is currently on their national concert tour, sponsored by the Dish Network. This Fresh Beat Band episode and the “Wizard of Song” special episode with Jason Mraz & Sarah Chalke were displayed for their costumes at the Annual Emmys Costume Exhibition.
Took this last night at the LA Funky Soul popping “musicality” battle. These are some of the brightest, youngest dancers in LA (ages 20 & under). Some of them are Versa-Style Next Generation members plus friends. They’ve formed a new crew called SOUL AMMUNITION. Proud to see them all grow up & represent on the dance floor. New short film “Friday Night House” that I shot, cut, & directed for Versa-Style Dance Company. Being in that dance studio with them, I was inspired by the tone & atmosphere of that night. They really convey the spirit of Furious Beauty - pure passion shared with others.
